MFH Wendelinweg Rickenbach SO
Smart Wohnen Swiss AG is building a small residential oasis with a total of 9 condominiums in the municipality of Rickenbach in a beautiful, slightly elevated location at the southern foot of the Jura. The location at the southern foot of the Jura, the associated view over the surrounding Mittelland, the proximity to the city of Olten and the good transport connections make the project unique.
Overall system consisting of:
- 94 PVT hybrid collectors SkySlate Hybrid
- Heat pump 35 kW
- Ice storage 163 m3
- System design, ice storage, hydraulics + control: B-Solartec AG
Energy demand:
- 33'000 kWh Hot water
- 56'000 kWh Heating
- 1'291 m2 energy reference area

PVT hybrid collector SkySlate Hybrid:
The 94 hybrid modules have a total installed capacity of 70 kWp thermal and 28.2 kWp electrical.
The thermal energy is used to regenerate the ice storage and increase the source temperature of the heat pump. In this way, the heat pump achieves a very high, i.e. efficient, annual performance factor of over 4.3. Slightly more than half of the electricity production covers the electricity demand of the heat pump for heating and hot water preparation. The other half is available to the residents as solar electricity.
Ice storage:
The heat exchangers are repeatedly thawed during icing so that the ice plates detach and float up, so the heat pump almost always has a source temperature of 4° available even in winter.
Cooling in summer is also available free of charge.
Thanks to the system developed and patented by B-Solartec AG, the defrosting energy required and the defrosting time could be halved and the efficiency and reliability of the defrosting process doubled.
